Questions parents ask first
The short version of how this works, who is behind it, and what it costs.
- Where does the schedule come from, and how often do you check it?
- From COPA’s own schedule, the one their booking page shows. We check it every hour. A spot is yours once you book it, not before.
- Will gotaspot book classes for me?
- No, gotaspot doesn’t book classes for you. Based on your plan and the classes available, it helps you book them yourself on COPA’s website.
- What happens on release day?
- COPA opens next month’s schedule on the 15th at 9 AM, or the next weekday when the 15th falls on a weekend. We notify you the evening before, and on the day we walk you through booking your plan.
- COPA caps new bookings at 2 classes a week per athlete for 48 hours after a release.
- So for those 48 hours you book two priority picks first: the first two you picked, unless you choose others. The rest of your plan waits until the window closes.
- Are you affiliated with COPA?
- No. gotaspot is an independent tool that reads the schedule COPA publishes. Booking happens on COPA’s website, in your own account.
- What does connecting my COPA account do?
- Connect your COPA account and we can confirm the classes you’ve booked, help you sort out a class that clashes with your plan, and tell you when a class you’d rather have opens up.
- Connecting with your COPA login gives you instant booking confirmations, a plan for each of your athletes, and easier cancellation of conflicting classes. Your password is always encrypted at rest and only ever used to sign in to COPA, never shared with anyone else. Disconnect your COPA account and we delete your password immediately.
- Connecting is optional; without it, gotaspot still plans your month and walks you through booking it.
- How do I find my COPA calendar URL?
- In COPA’s booking portal, open the dashboard page and find “My upcoming events”. Copy the Apple iCal link, not the Google one. It starts with webcal://sportsix.sports-it.com and ends in a long key.
- We read your calendar when you start and finish booking, and while a booking waits to be confirmed.
- What does gotaspot cost?
- Nothing. All available features are currently free. We’ll let you know, should that change in the future.
- How does it work with more than one kid?
- With your COPA account connected using your COPA login, each athlete can have their own plan. For technical reasons we cannot support families with multiple athletes when just using the calendar link.
